So
a duck walks into a bar and orders a pint and a ham sandwich.
Barman says, "That's amazing I didn't know ducks could
talk. What are you doing round here?" The duck tells him
that he has got some casual work on the building site
round the corner. After that, he comes in every lunchtime,
always for a pint and a ham sandwich. One day a man in
a red jacket and black trousers comes in and in chatting
to the barman says he is the ringmaster for the visiting
circus. The barman tells him about the talking duck and
promises the excited ringmaster he will ask the duck if
he would be interested in joining the circus. As usual
the duck is in the next day and the barman says "I was
talking to the ringmaster at the circus yesterday, he'd
love to have a chat to you about some work there." The
duck looks puzzled and says "What, a circus, where they
have all the animals?", "Yes", says the barman, "With
the sawdust and the big canvas tent with poles?", "Yes",
says the barman, "Well, why the hell would they need a
plasterer?".
In this bulletin we have more new stuff to tell you about - new staff, a new website, new downloads, and some great client results too. | |
New Website
At the recent IoF National Convention, together with Richard Turner of ActionAid, John presented a session titled "50 Ideas in 60 Minutes". Despite getting brown pants when he realised it was going to be to an audience of more than 200, it went well. However, rather than produce the usual session handouts we went one step further and developed a whole website with details of every one of the ideas. So if you are in need of 50 short sharp bursts of inspiration, then visit www.50fundraisingideas.com and let us know what you think. |

More Free Downloads
We have added another new download to our website: How to run better brainstorms. So if your current brainstorming sessions are sterile flipchart exercises in an environment of magnolia and chipped beech veneer, help is at hand.

We have linked with a new charity, Muchloved.com, which is an organisation established to assist people who have suffered bereavement, particularly the death of a family member or friend. They provide and maintain individual, unique and sensitive website tributes in order to enable people to commemorate, celebrate or simply remember a person they loved and still love. Many charities are likely to use the service and you can visit their website at www.muchloved.com |

Great Results!
We don't normally want to blow our own trumpet, but having mentioned the BBC Radio 4 Appeal that we wrote for Handicap International last time, we are chuffed to bits because it has now raised over £50,000 making it one of the most successful ever. |
